Wellness dictionary
Little ABC for your spa-break questions ...
In their treatment discriptions, wellness hotels often use technical terms, which are hard to understand for potential guests. We have therefore collected and defined the most relevant terms in our small wellness ABC. A tip: Our wellness dictionary also supports word requests. You don't need to know the exact wording.

Chi Yang
What is a Chi Yang massage?
The chi yang massage is based on traditional Chinese folk medicine. It is a combination of acupressure, relaxation and beauty massage. The aim of the chi yang massage is to activate the energy flow in the body and to loosen internal blockages. The use of special oils during the massage contributes to a state of physical and mental relaxation.
A chi yang massage usually takes about an hour. It can be carried out as a half or full body treatment. When doing a full body massage, the arms and legs are massaged first, focussing attention on the acupuncture points along the meridians in the body. Gentle massage of these points encourages the body’s own energy to flow freely. During the chi yang massage, the whole body is massaged, focussing on particular areas to loosen muscle tension.
A chi yang massage stimulates the lymphatic system, loosens muscle tension and gently relaxes the nervous system.
