Coconut oil
How is coconut oil extracted?
Already 3,000 years ago people in South-East Asia cultivated palm trees to use the precious coconut oil. Coconut oil is extracted from the pulp of the coconut fruit and contains numerous highly efficient ingredients like lauric acid. Lauric acid has an anti bacterial effect and therefore can prevent skin irritations, pimples or acne.
Coconut oil in skin and hair care
But coconut oil can do even more. Used as conditioner it strengthens your hair and gives gloss. Applied on the scalp it reduces scales and is said to even support hair growth. Who has to deal with dry hair can use coconut oil on a regularly basis as a cure to regain moisture. Simply apply coconut oil after showering to your wet hair and let it impact over night. The next day wash out with shampoo.
Besides that, coconut oil serves as make-up remover and also as caring cream for arising wrinkles. It provides moisture and tightens the skin. But coconut oil does also good to men's skin: After shaving the oil calms and smoothens the stressed skin. Coconut oil is of course not only a good cream when it comes to our skin but also when it comes to our whole body.
When buying coconut oil you should pay attention to quality.
The coconut oil should:
- Come from controlled biological farming
- Be unbleached and untempered
It should not be
- refined or
- deodorized
as industrial treated coconut oil loses precious minerals and vitamins. After buying coconut oil, it is durable for 2 years.
