Eisenschmitt an der Salm is a small, quiet townlocated in the Eifel National Park, in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Many years ago, the area was well-known for its iron ore and charcoal production. Other famous sights include the Eisenschmitt fountain and the Clara-Viebig centre. Eisenschmitt is a certified spa town as it fulfils the required air and climate standards. Situated in the centre of the Eifel National Park, the Molitors Mühle hotel is ideal for those that wish to combine a spa break with an activity holiday. Surrounded by forests and meadows, the only sound that visitors to Eisenschmitt can only hear are the church bells. The town is embedded in the valley south of the volcanic Eifel region. Dense forests, rivers and lakes create an ideal habitat for wildlife. The picturesque Salm River, a tributary to the Moselle River, winds its way through Eisenschmitt.
